Dubrovnik sightseeing tour: Full Day Tour

Join us on our Dubrovnik sightseeing tour and experience this spectacular ancient city, now famous more than ever thanks to being featured in the hit TV series Game of Thrones.

It is around 3 hours drive between Split and Dubrovnik. However, it is well worth it, if you want to see this striking medieval walled city, its monumental fortifications and formidable walls, majestic gates, palaces, cathedral, churches and more. Awe-striking sights don’t stop at monuments, as the natural surrounding are equally marvelous and breathtaking.

Based on the size of the group, we will pick you up in a car or a minivan, and head straight to the highway on our way to Dubrovnik. On our way to Dubrovnik, we stop at Ston for coffee break and sightseeing.

Dubrovnik sightseeing tour is a private experience. Minimal number of participants is 3 and the maximum 8.

Ston: Home of the longest wall in Europe

Ston is a small town on the northern side of the peninsula Pelješac, which served as a line of defense for Dubrovnik from the north-west in the past. It is surrounded by a series of defensive stone walls, originally more than 7 km long, and 5,5 km long today, still making it the longest stone wall in Europe. It is a very popular tourist destination with its charming architecture that will take you back to the 15th century with Dubrovnik sightseeing tour.

Ston is also known as the town of salt, as the salt pans stretching southeast date back to the Roman times, and are thought to be among the oldest in the world. Romans also started the cultivation of oysters and mussels, still present today.

Ston is also known as the town of salt, thanks to the oldest active saltworks in the world. However the cultivation of oysters and mussels is present since the Romans, while its charming architecture will take you to the 15th century.

Dubrovnik Sightseeing

Ston was the entree, but Dubrovnik is undoubtedly the highlight of our trip, and arguably in all of Croatia. Magnificent and monumental architecture, standing like frozen in ancient time, and surrounded by some of the most wonderful natural sights in the whole of Adriatic, will take your breath away.

Despite it being seriously damaged by an earthquake in 1667, then again during the Croatian War of Independence in the 1990s, Dubrovnik still managed to preserve its historic glory.

Highlights of Dubrovnik sightseeing tour include walking around its picturesque old streets and alleys, while visiting beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, and fountains, the broad Stradun pedestrian walkway, and its many old palaces and fortifications.

However, no visit to Dubrovnik sightseeing would be complete without a walk around the spectacular city walls. As high as six meters in some places, and up to six meters thick, they offer excellent views over the Adriatic Sea, the Old Town, and to the mountain Srđ in the back. Mount Srđ, which you can access by the cable car, offers even more spectacular views of the Old Town and its surroundings.
