Budget Five Islands Tour: Travel with Rib Boat

Budget Five Islands Tour or Budget Blue Cave Tour is our most affordable way to visit Blue Cave and the other beautiful mid Adriatic islands, such as Hvar and Vis. Along with it being the most budget friendly, it is also the most exciting one.

Budget version is cheaper and faster

In the Budget Five Islands Tour option, you ride in RIB boats. They are built for speed, and are among the fastest speedboats out there. Due to their construction, they cut through the waves more easily and spend less fuel compared to other speedboats.

Although being the cheapest, you still visit all the places of Five Islands Tour. You do perhaps have to sacrifice some level of comfort, but you will save time on the ride, so you get more time to enjoy the sights.

Rib Boat tours

Get more time with Budget Five Islands Tour

It takes around 1 hour 45 minutes, on average, to reach Biševo Island and the Blue cave from Split, and RIB boats take about 1 hour and 15 min. When you consider that there is usually a waiting line to go inside the Blue Cave, these 30 minutes can really make a serious difference, and put you in front of 20 other ships, full with tourists equally eager to visit the cave.

In the end, you don’t get 30 minutes more. You actually get 90 to 150 minutes more time for swimming, sightseeing and snorkeling.

This is one of the reasons why budget Five Islands Tour is a very popular, especially during the crowded high summer season, and when you don’t have to worry about bad weather conditions.

1) Budget Five Islands Tour: Blue Cave

Our first destination is the wonderful Blue Cave on the east side of the small island of Biševo, right next to the island of Vis. This fascinating natural phenomenon is one of the most incredible spots on the Adriatic coast.

The natural entrance to the cave resembles a vault on the ceiling, and it is through this submarine-like opening on the ceiling that sunlight gets in and produces an iridescent blue glowing effect all around the cave, creating breathtaking sights.

Next to Hvar and Stiniva, it is one of those places you just have to visit. Stunning photographs you take will be a forever reminder of the wonderful time you have spent in Croatia.

2) Budget Five Islands Tour: Stiniva Cove

Stiniva, voted by tourists as the best beach in Europe, is a secluded little beach on the southern side of the island of Vis. It was created by the collapse of the dome of a cave, giving it its today’s peculiar outlook.

Its appeal largely stems from its isolation and secludedness , as there is no road to it, but only a dangerous goat path, and a narrow entrance by sea, to its magnificent pebble beach, with crystal clear water, white sanded bottom and a stunning cliff top backdrop. It is mainly visited by tourists on boat excursions, while most boats anchor in front, due to rope which blocks the entrance to speedboats.

3) Budget Five Islands Tour: Budikovac Island

Our next stop is Budikovac, yet another small, secluded island near Vis.

We anchor in the beautiful turquoise lagoon, where you will have the chance to snorkel with our snorkeling equipment for free, swim, take pictures of the crystal-clear waters and experience vivid colors and great diversity of sea life.

You can also drink coffee, have brunch or use the toilet, in a restaurant on the beach.

4) Budget Five Islands Tour: Hell Islands

Then we are off to Pakleni Islands, a small but very popular group of islets just in front of the town of Hvar.

They are characterized by the picturesque sea bed, the untouched nature and the beautiful gravel beaches. Two of the most popular ones being the ones we visit are Palmižana and Carpe Diem beach.

You can find several restaurants, a lounge bar, botanical garden and sand on Palmižana beach as well as Carpe Diem which is for the most part a party beach, especially when the sun sets.

5) Budget Five Islands Tour: Hvar

Next, we arrive in the town of Hvar. Along with the clear sea, nice beaches and being the sunniest island of the Adriatic, it is an ancient town – an actual monument with a rich and turbulent history, archaeological sites, stunning old buildings, monasteries, and churches.

You can visit the cathedral of Hvar, the theatre of Hvar, established in 1612, with the arsenal and the Franciscan monastery, and from the fortress Fortica, located just above the town, you can enjoy a marvelous panoramic view of the old town, sea and Pakleni islands. It takes only 15 minutes to reach the top by foot. Fortica – the old fortress is number one attraction located on the hill above the city.

There are more than enough good restaurants, small pubs, local taverns, bars and hotels here and Hvar also has a rich nightlife, attracting young people from around the world. During summer, it is known as the town that never sleeps.

Suprise destination

As we already mentioned, taking our Budget Five Islands Tour can save time regarding boat ride and waiting in line, so we often have a chance to stop at an additional place or two.

These can be the town of Komiža on the island Vis, Porat beach or Monk Seal Cave on the island Biševo.

Surprise destinations are mostly possible with the Budget Five Islands Tours, given the speed of RIB boats. Actual location of the stop is chosen on the move, depending on where we are at a certain moment and how much time we have left.

WHICH ISLANDS/LOCATIONS WE VISIT?

We stop at Biševo¸ Vis¸ Budikovac¸ Hell Islands (Pakleni otoci) and Hvar. Among these five¸ Hvar and Vis are among the biggest islands of mid Adriatic.
